Your Tasks

  • Planning, Set-up and Coordination of the pre-clinical laboratory work
  • Scientific Analysis, evaluation and compilation of the pre-clinical data according to regulatory requirements
  • Compiling data analyses and scientific background information for clinical trial investigators (Investigators Brochure)
  • Provide scientific input to study protocol and other study related documents e.g. clinical trial protocol, IMPD, clinical study report)
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of clinical trial applications to the competent regulatory authorities and ethics committee
  • Plan and establish sample and data analysis on clinical study samples
  • Coordination of processing and presentation of study results
  • Provide scientific support for funding applications for new projects

Our research focuses on the development and clinical translation of adoptive immunotherapy of cancer with T cells that have been modified by gene transfer to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs). Despite the recent clinical approval of CD19-directed CAR-T cells for the treatment of B cell leukemia and lymphoma, the development of CAR-T cell therapy for the treatment of additional hematologic and solid malignancies is still in its infancy. Several of our preclinical research projects have brought forth candidates that qualify for clinical application and we need your support in promoting their successful clinical translation (Project lead: Prof. Michael Hudecek).

Your Profile

Applicants for this position should hold a PhD in life sciences (biomedicine, biology, biochemistry, or a related field). Professional experience in the clinical research and clinical trial environment is required. Clinical trial regulatory experience, preferably in the medicinal product or medical device product area would be an advantage.

We expect you to have a very good command of the German and English language.

The Division of Medicine II/ Department of Hematology at the University Hospital of Würzburg (Chair: Prof. H. Einsele) runs one of the largest bone marrow transplantation and cell therapy programs in Germany providing numerous opportunities for bench to bedside interaction, education, and clinical translation.
