Applications are invited for a part-time (50%), MTA/BTA position with principal investigator Dr. Haroon Shaikh on a German Research Foundation (DFG) funded project at the Research Group for Experimental Stem Cell Transplantation, Department of Medicine II.

Your Tasks
Our research laboratory employsin vitro (2D/3D) cell culture systems and mouse models to investigate the dynamics of stem cell transplantation and leukemia progression. This position is part of a project exploring the role of exosomes in initiating acute graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) and their prognostic potential in risk stratification. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting postdoctoral researchers and PhD students, assisting with experiments, optimizing protocols, and troubleshooting experimental procedures. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining meticulous and well-organized laboratory records to ensure data integrity and reproducibility. The role also includes contributing to general lab operations, fostering a collaborative and structured research environment.
Your Profile
- Completed training as an MTA, BTA, biology laboratory technician, or in a related field.
- Experience with immunohistochemistry and fluorescence microscopy is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of molecular techniques and flow cytometry is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in cell culture techniques is required.
- Organized, independent, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Strong teamwork, social, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Good proficiency in English is preferred.
- Interest in mouse experiments is advantageous.
