Your Tasks
This project focuses on innovative surgical cancer treatments. Using confocal laser endomicroscopy, robotic surgery, and AI, we aim to improve the precision of cancer surgery. You will develop an interactive video stream capture system that analyzes various image sources, applies AI, and assists surgeons in preserving healthy tissue when removing cancerous tissue.
As a software engineer (m/f/d), you will play a vital role in advancing our research and creating innovative solutions, including:
- Build a modular video signal grabbing + AI-application platform for synchronized real-time analysis of different video signals (endoscopic, surgical-robot, and confocal laser endomicroscopy) on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin platform.
- Be a part of the team: Surgeons (ENT & Visceral Surgeons), internists, UX/HMI experts, and computer scientists.
Your Profile
Required:
- Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics or Games Engineering
- Python (and C++ as needed); video pipelines via e.g. GStreamer, FFmpeg, OpenCV; on-device acceleration using CUDA/TensorRT
- Experience with medical data analysis, image registration and machine learning..
- Proficiency in English (C1 level).
- Experience in scientific research with proven track record of published work in peer-reviewed journals with a focus on medical applications.
- Strong motivation, initiative, and teamwork orientation.
- Residency in Germany to enable a quick start.
Optional:
- German language skills (not mandatory).
