At the Comprehensive Heart Failure Center (CHFC) and the Department of Medicine I at the University Hospital Würzburg, a scientific PhD position is available within the framework of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1525 “Cardio‑Immune Interfaces”.

Your Tasks
- Planning and independent execution of experimental studies (animal models and cell culture) investigating the regulation of myelopoiesis in cardiovascular disease
- Establishment, optimization and application of modern experimental methods in cardiovascular research
- Care and genotyping of transgenic mouse lines
- Independent acquisition, analysis, evaluation and interpretation of scientific data
- Presentation of research results at national and international conferences and publication in peer‑reviewed journals
- Development of translational research approaches and participation in the acquisition of third‑party research funding
Your Profile
Must‑haves
- Completed university degree (Diploma or Master’s) in a discipline relevant to the research field
- Proven experience in animal experimentation, particularly in mouse models
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level)
- Solid knowledge of standard laboratory techniques (e.g. histology, ELISA, qPCR, flow cytometry)
- Experience in publishing scientific work in PubMed‑indexed journals
- Strong scientific interest in experimental cardiovascular research
Nice‑to‑haves
- Experience working with transgenic animal models
- Knowledge of translational research approaches
- Experience in supervising students or technical staff
- Motivation to actively contribute to the establishment and further development of a new research group
