The Department of Clinical Genetics and Genomic Medicine at the University Hospital Würzburg invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) for a 2-year position (TV-L E13). The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team investigating molecular mechanisms of leukemic cells-immune system and microenvironment interaction, with a focus on functional genomics and multi-omics integration.

Your Tasks

  • Design and conduct independent research projects in translational cancer research
  • Perform and optimize molecular biology and genome editing techniques
  • Apply and analyze next-generation sequencing (NGS) approaches
  • Integrate multi-omics datasets and perform advanced statistical and survival analyses
  • Contribute to grant writing and manuscript preparation
  • Supervise doctoral and master’s students
  • Collaborate with clinical and bioinformatics teams within the university hospital

Your Profile

  • PhD degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of research experience in cancer research (background in the research of leukemia will be considered advantage)
  • Strong expertise in molecular biology techniques, including:
    • CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing
    • Primary cell culture and established cell line culture
    • shRNA-mediated gene silencing
    • Western blotting
    • Flow cytometry
  • Extensive experience with NGS technologies, including:
    • RNA-seq
    • Hi-C-seq
    • Single-cell multiome sequencing (essential)
  • Strong background in data analysis, statistical methods, and survival analysis
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and programming (e.g., R, Python, or similar) is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and spoken English
