The Chair of Endocrinology and Diabetology at the University Hospital of Würzburg (AG PD Dr. Dischinger) is looking for a

• Contacts to the Scientific-Champions-League
• Laboratories profoundly equipped with equipment and MLS personnel

• Participation in international congresses
• PhD at the Medical Faculty of the University of Würzburg in the endocrinology department and the Comprehensive Heart Failure Center
• Research on the “adipose tissue-adrenal axis”, with increasing impact in the endocrine environment at top international level
• Possibility to engage in environmental research and the impact of endocrine disupting chemicals on the “adipose tissue-adrenal axis”
• Publications with high impact

• Careful development of the research methodology
• Independent lab analysis of blood, adrenal and adipose tissue samples obtained from animal experiments and human surgery at our center

Thecentralresearchquestionsoftheprojectare:

• How does the adipose tissue influence the adrenal gland’s function and the heart and vice-versa. 
• Is there a paracrine communication between the adrenal gland and the periadrenal adipose tissue?
• Do environmental chemicals (e.g., Bisphenols, Phthalates) influence the adrenal gland function and do the accumulate in the adrenal gland?

• Master's degree in Biology, Ecotrophology, Biomedicine or Biochemistry
• Interest in translational research
• Previous experience with animal experiments (desired)

The position is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) at 65% for one year with a contract extension for three years.
