Your Tasks
Our research focuses on the influence of inflammation on cardiovascular disease. This project will benchmark a currently developed quantum-based microscopy technique to analyze these processes in-depth.
Your project: We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with strong expertise in cardiovascular research and/ or spatial -omics techniques. Your position will be within the an innovative and interdisciplinary consortium that bridges basic science with cutting-edge technology development. In collaboration with leading scientific and industrial partners, we are developing a novel label-free midIR microscope. You will be part of regular meetings within the consortium across Germany.
This technology will be applied to biomaterials obtained from cardiovascular animal models and compared with state-of-the-art technologies. Biomaterial will be generated from cardiovascular disease models, like hypertension, atherosclerosis and myocardial infarction. We are an experienced team on both the computational and wet lab side of this work and offer training possibilities for a successful candidate.

Your Profile
We are looking for a researcher (m/f/d) with:
- completed or near completion of a PhD (or comparable degree) in biomedical sciences, biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, or a related field
- a strong experimental background in histology, microscopy, and sample preparation and/or bioinformatics expertise, ideally related to spatially resolved technologies (e.g., imaging, spatial omics)
- motivation to learn new methods and to work in an interdisciplinary environment
- scientific curiosity, independence, and a collaborative mindset
- excellent communication skills in English
- motivation to develop intellectually owned research directions
